MYUS SS27 — Behind The Wallpaper
The Private Lives of Parisian Interiors
Paris keeps its interiors longer than most cities. New generations move freely through inherited rooms — feet on the silk, ash near the curtains — making their own memories among the faded remnants of someone else's. In these intimate spaces, founder and creative director Braden Myus finds his inspiration, drawing a connection between weathered interiors and the private histories of the people who inhabit them.
That interplay between what is visible and what remains concealed takes physical form in the garments. The Mirror Leather Jacket and Trouser catch an uncertain reflection in foil-treated lambskin, while the Distressed Salon Suit holds its double-breasted composure despite distressing at the elbows and knees. The low-cut Remnant Dress offers glimpses through scalloped Italian lace; elsewhere, silk dévoré leaves raised velvet patterns against a transparent ground.
"I liked the idea that every layer of wallpaper holds stories of lives lived. People have that same depth; there is always more than what meets the eye. I kept returning to lace because it allows you to look through a layer without making everything visible."
— Braden MyusDesigned in Paris and handmade in Italy, MYUS inhabits a romantic register of the avant-garde, translating worlds both lived and imagined into garments that reward closer attention.
